Washington church of Christ
NEWS
We have added a new page
giving details about Christians in other countries, who
have asked the church for prayer.
Eileen has produced a website especially for
the church's building: http://www.wcoc.org.uk/index.html
The church has a copy of the Christianity
Explored DVD so can offer courses in the
church building or in homes for Soul, Alpha and Christianity
Explored.
A recent addition to the website - a link to
GotQuestions.com
which answers many Bible Questions and looks a good
resource. Worth a look, though of course we have not
read every page !
July - Andrew, Ross and Steve enjoyed a week at the Keswick
Convention, camping in the luxury of a large tent. The
week was both spiritually renewing and challenging with
studies of Revelation 1-3 and 2nd Corinthians focussed on
the theme of "overcoming".
9th May - on Sunday mornings we are beginning to study the
New Testament letters in the probable order in which they
were written, beginning with Galatians.
2nd May - Since the demise of Geocities the links to the
church leaflets has not worked. They are now all
available again directly from this website at the
Publications page.

In preparation for the New Year study of the Gospels, copies
of "The Story of Jesus" compiled by M Douglas Clark have
been purchased and
an index produced, which is
not in the book.
For the first time ever, the weather called a halt to
worship on January 3rd when snow and glassy ice made
travelling conditions unsavoury !
Back in July when Ross and Andrew went to Keswick, Andrew
took panoramic photos of the standing stones. These
have finally been edited into one picture which you can
see by clicking on the small version here:
The autumn fair on November 21st raised in excess of £300,

The coffee morning and sale on Saturday 24th October raised

and the surprise of the day was when Sandi found her friend
Emily from Bethany church in Houghton - who had walked
across from the mainland...
In July Sandi, Andrew & Ross went to the Keswick Convention,
enjoying the K2 (20s and 30s group), youth events and the
main tent. Andrew came back with lots of books.
Ross came back with flu and Sandi came back waterlogged as
her campsite was about to be flooded by the river! It
rained... nothing new!
In June Ross and family attended a presentation at Auckland
Palace where he was given a Certificate in Youth Work
by Tom Wright the Bishop of Durham. Here he is, on the
extreme right of the group.
